Project iRetailCheck: Enhancing retail security
At AMOTEK we teamed up with iRetailCheck, a Belgian leader in retail theft prevention, to upgrade self-checkout systems with smart IoT technology. By integrating camera-based systems, our solution compares scanned items with checkout data, instantly alerting customers if an item hasn’t been scanned. This technology, already in use in Belgian supermarkets like Action, has proven highly effective at reducing theft.
Our collaboration focuses on two key areas: optimizing theft prevention in self-checkouts and enhancing user experience for both customers and employees. AMOTEK is also developing a Power BI-based dashboard, offering store owners real-time insights to monitor and prevent theft, empowering them to make informed, data-driven decisions that streamline store operations.
Project Fresh Tray: Supporting eco-friendly waste disposal
Fresh Tray is an innovative company dedicated to eco-friendly solutions for cigarette waste disposal. We’ve partnered with them to create an IoT-enabled system that tracks the location and status of disposal stations. By monitoring fill levels, our technology ensures that stations are emptied only when needed, keeping environments clean and reducing unnecessary maintenance. This smart approach not only supports sustainability but also helps communities maintain tidier public spaces.
