Are you a dedicated and skilled Automation Engineer seeking to make an impact? At AMOTEK, we’re looking for an experienced professional to join our automation team and play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions for infrastructure projects. As an Automation Engineer, you’ll handle the automation aspects of projects, collaborating with Project Managers, internal teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure the efficiency, safety, and reliability of systems. This role offers a dynamic mix of office-based work and on-site visits, where you’ll perform analyses, commission installations, and troubleshoot systems.

As Automation Engineer, you will be:
- Analyzing existing and new systems and requirements outlined in the project specifications to identify automation opportunities.
- Identifying engineering issues and their potential budgetary and time impact on the project.
- Design automation systems, including selecting the appropriate sensors, actuators, controllers, and software for efficient and safe operation of mechanisms (e.g., bridges and locks).
- Writing code and implementing software to control and monitor various devices and systems used in infrastructure.
- Conducting tests to ensure that automated systems function correctly. Additionally, optimizing these systems to improve efficiency and minimize failures is a key responsibility.
- Ensuring commissioning and handover according to the organization's and client's requirements.
- Providing ongoing support and maintenance for implemented automation systems to ensure they remain operational at all times.
- Ensuring automation systems comply with applicable safety standards and regulations, particularly as our projects require a high level of safety.
- Collaborating with various teams, such as civil engineers, project managers, and other specialists, to coordinate and optimize the integration of automation technologies into the project.
- Effectively managing personal organizational skills to execute planned automation tasks across multiple projects.
Let's talk about you
- At least a degree in Electromechanical Automation and can demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Possess both theoretical and practical knowledge for analyzing automated or to-be-automated installations.
- Experience with infrastructure projects (waterways) is definitely a plus.
- Experience programming Siemens equipment (Simatic & TIA Portal) and conducting safety analyses with their application in automation (SIL or PL).
- Fluency in Dutch and a good command of technical English.
- Flexible and willing to travel when necessary.
